Everything on this site is written by people who do the work. Pricing ranges, material comparisons and installation sequences come from projects we have actually completed in San Diego County, not from rewriting other contractors' pages.
How we set prices in our guides
Cost ranges reflect what we quote and what we see quoted in this market, for the pool sizes and surface areas stated alongside them. They are ranges, not estimates for your property. A range on this site is never a substitute for an on-site measurement, because surface condition, access and existing plumbing move the number more than any published average can capture.
Review before publication
Any page that quotes a price, states a lifespan, describes a build sequence or makes a code or permitting claim is reviewed by someone who has performed that work before it goes live. Pages carrying a review show the reviewer and the date they checked it.
Sources
Where we state something verifiable, we link the primary source: manufacturer specifications for finishes and pavers, industry installation standards, the California Contractors State License Board for licensing, and the relevant municipal or county authority for permits and water rules. We link to the source itself rather than to another article about it.
Updates
Pricing guidance is reviewed at least once a year and whenever material costs move enough to make a published range misleading. Articles carry a published date, and reviewed pages carry a review date, so you can see how current the information is.
Advertising and independence
We are a contractor, not a review site. Every recommendation on this site is a recommendation for work we perform and are paid for, and we state that plainly rather than presenting it as neutral advice. We do not accept payment from manufacturers to recommend their products, and we are not compensated for the outbound links we publish.
Corrections
